Pão de Mafra
Part of our bread collection this is our take on another white bread Portuguese classic, the “Pão de Mafra”, named after a Portuguese royal town, this is a thin firm crust and a loose crumb loaf.
Usually sliced for breakfast or a snack. It is a descendant of the “pão saloio”, produced in the designated area of Saloia around Lisbon, where it has been baked since the nineteenth century.
This is one of the most common Portuguese loaves of bread that you will find whenever you visit a Portuguese pastelaria, it is similar to our classic white bread but crunchier than a carcaça.
Flour, Salt, Voltex & Yeast.
Gluten (Wheat) & Soya Flour.
